  1. Avoid the situation where I’m tempted or vulnerable

    James 1:14 – But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

    Job 31:1 – I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.

    Job 31:12 – Lust is a fire that burns to destruction; it would have uprooted my harvest.

    Ephesians 4:19 – Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

    Psalm 119:37 – Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.
     
  2. Capture the thought as soon as it enters my mind

    2 Corinthians 10:3,5 – For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does… we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

    Philippians 4:8 – Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

    Proverbs 6:25-28 – Do not lust in your heart… Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
     
  3. Don’t walk – run from temptation

    1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

    1 Corinthians 6:18 – Flee from sexual immorality.

    Titus 2:12 – God’s grace teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.
